Modify>Convert to Symbol. this will change your doodle into a symbol and place it in the library. Changing any instance of the symbol will change all others automatically. Click ‘Properties’, beside the ‘Library’ panel to make any edits. We can transform symbols using the ‘free transform tool in the tool palette on the left. This works broadly similarly to the photoshop transform command.
-The transformation point defaulting at the centre can be moved- this is useful for creating joints on character armatures.
-View>show Grid
-Paint Bucket changes fill colour. Ink bottle changes stroke colour.
THE TIMELINE
A Keyframe is highlighted with a black rectangle. if there is a dot in the symbol, it means there is content in that keyframe- a symbol etc
Click on your symbol, then click on a later frame, then select Insert>Motion Tween. This will create a straight line motion between points A and B. A line of action will appear showing the path of the symbol when moving. If you use the selection tool (shortcut ‘v’) you can edit the line of motion so it works on a curve or zigzag etc.
You can also select a symbol and click ‘Insert> Remove Tween’
Ctrl + Enter to preview your movie
Click on the timeline and use the ‘Properties>Ease’ Slider to adjust the acceleration or deceleration of of the symbol. This is limited however as only one ‘ease’ can be used for each symbol.
CLASSIC TWEEN
Create a new layer and draw a line for the background on frame one. Skip to frame 24 and insert a new keyframe. (Insert>Timeline>Keyframe)This will keep the background on screen for all 24 seconds. Next place a ball at the left of the screen on frame one, then insert a keyframe at frame 24 and move the ball across the screen. With the ball selected click ‘Insert> Classic Tween. Similar to the ‘Motion Tween’ the ball will animate and roll across the screen, and ‘Ease’ can be applied. The difference between the Classic and the Motion tweens is that additional keyframes can be inserted into the classic tween to further refine and adjust movement. An ease can be applied between any 2 keyframes- allowing the rolling ball to first accelerate then decelerate later in the scene. In the timeline you can click the ‘Onion Skin button to show the movement between adjacent frames.
