The transition from a rock mesh to the landscape can look very artificial and fake at the seam where they intersect. We can adjust our master rock material to soften this edge, and create a slight blur at the transition point.
Using our snow/moss rock material from the earlier tutorial, we can quickly adjust it:
Create a DitherTemporalAA node, and feed it along with a scalar parameter node into a multiply node.
Slot this multiply into the Pixel Depth Offset slot of the master material.
Keep this value low about 10– too high and it starts to dither the whole mesh.
