For the series on Culture, I tried to suggest that no matter how much you try to paint over the cracks, the real ‘us’ always shines through. Art is not just limited to museums where it is controlled by the highest bidder- it bursts onto the streets through the creativity of everyone- invited or not. We are not the noble people we want to appear to be. But instead a different type of nobility comes in seeing and reflecting on our own shortcomings- an honesty.
